Our 30th anniversary symposium and gala was held on Friday, April 4, 2008. The symposium, entitled "Shock to the System: Preparing Primary Care for the Aging Baby Boomers," was well attended with over 150 attendees. A webcast and the presentations are available on the Kaiser Family Foundation website. That same evening, our 30th Anniversary Gala Celebration was held at the Westin Copley Hotel in Boston, with entertainment provided by The Capitol Steps. It was extremely successful with over $400,000 raised for our Fund for the Future of Primary Care.

Urban Medical received a grant of $237,777 from the Jacob and Valeria Langeloth Foundation to conduct an evaluation of its House Calls program. Urban Medical’s House Calls program is a unique home visiting program that involves a health care team that visits elders wherever they reside, follows them to hospital, other temporary facilities and back home again, to ensure continuity of care and a level of quality that results in reduced hospitalizations. learn more...
Urban Medical has been selected to participate in a new Medicare demonstration project intended to track the care of chronically ill Medicare patients. The goal of the three-year project, which begins this summer, is to support the adoption of health information technology and facilitate the care of chronically ill patients in physician practices. learn more...
